Irene Risley Executive Committee
"I have been a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Community since 1995. My husband, children and I actively participate in many of the ministries available to parishioners of St. Charles." What is my role on the Parish Pastoral Council? "I am part of the Executive Committee of the Parish Pastoral Council. For the 2009-2010 “term”, I serve on the Diversity Committee, a subset of the Council." What is the mission of the Diversity Committee? "The Diversity Committee has been charged to meet with parishioners of various ethnic and racial backgrounds to gain insight as to their experiences as parishioners of St. Charles. They validated the importance of embracing individuals because of our oneness in our faith. This oneness in our faith is essential in “living” as a vibrant parish community."

I am the Pastoral Council Liaison for Community Formation. Specific ministries under Community Formation include the ElizabethMinistry, the Woman’s Club, the Men’s Ministry, Marriage Preparation and Baptismal Preparation. What is the mission? The various groups within Community Formation are a “welcoming committee”. They provide an opportunity for the parishioners within St. Charles to be part of a Faith Community. Formation is a journey, as a group and with the help of the Holy Spirit, to be like Christ by expressing love for God and others. With this in mind, the mission of the Community Formation ministries is to reach out to others and welcome them into their respective areas of the community. There is also a common theme to serve the Community of St. Charles as well as the broader community. A few examples of this expression of love include the Bereavement Group, the Purling Angels and Outreach. How can someone become involved with these ministries? First, I would suggest understanding the broad range of ministries that currently exist by speaking with one of the group chairs or attending an event. Then, look for something you care about. Hopefully something you connect with fills a personal need, whatever that may be. How can I be contacted? Mobile: 609-462-6522. Work: 609-466-0176 Email: JJSUD@aol.com
