A Reason for our Hope: 30 Years of Living Faith

Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope.  1 Peter 3:15

In the summer of 1982, The Catholic Community of Saint Charles Borromeo became the first parish to be founded in the newly created Diocese of Metuchen.  Named for the baptismal patron of Pope John Paul II, the parish has grown from a rural farming community to a suburban parish.

This Fall, we have begun the observance of our 30th Anniversary.  We have taken as our theme the words from the First Letter of Peter.  Throughout these years, our parish has given an explanation for our hope through prayer, through a rich liturgical life, through the formation of families and youth, through prayer and study, through service and witness.

In the course of the coming year, we have chosen several opportunities for the community to come together.  It will be a time of remembering our faith and our history.  It will be a time of renewing our commitment to live our Catholic identity.  It will be a time of restoring those places in our lives, in our parish, and in our world that are in need of healing and forgiveness.

We hope that you will join us as we celebrate this anniversary together.
